When the North Smyrna Elementary PTO needed help with a project, president Kathy Dillard called on the local Boy Scout troop leader, who was also a manager at the neighborhood hardware store. He donated the supplies for the large wooden box the PTO needed, and the Scouts built it. “Each year, many Boy Scout troops look for community service projects,” Dillard says. “Contacting them over the summer allowed time for them to complete the box.”
