Helping Parent Leaders Make Schools Great

Celebrate National Teacher Day

May 6th, 2008 by Emily G

Today is National Teacher Day.

Don’t worry if the holiday snuck up on you. The NEA has some cool electronic greeting cards your kids can email to their teachers. As an added bonus, the teacher’s name will be included on what’s being called the nation’s largest teacher thank-you card. (You can snail mail your own cards to be incorporated into the giant card, too.)

Today’s also a good time to think about ways your parent group can appreciate teachers all year long. Be sure to check out our article on this topic, Teacher Appreciation Done Right, which has great ideas on how to do just that.

I would like to poll the teachers of the school I represent as PTO President however, I can’t find a survey on PTOtoday therefore, I wasn hoping someone could send me a template so, I wouldn’t have to reinvent the wheel.

    Please help.

    Hi Icha -

Our filesharing tool was created for that very reason - so you don’t have to recreate the wheel every time you need a document. We have a teacher survey category but unfortunately no one has uploaded a file to it yet. Maybe you’ll be the first? When you create the survey we’d love to have you upload it and share it with everyone else.

(In the meantime you might want to check out the File Exchange and see if you can use any of the other documents - lots of good stuff folks have shared. http://www.ptotoday.com/filesharing)
