Parent Involvement as election platform
October 26th, 2007 by tsullivanWe’re all for anything and anyone speaking out loudly in favor of the importance of parent involvement, as this candidate is doing in Connecticut.
Couple of key notes, however: 1) Real key will be whether actions in office follow the campaign rhetoric. It’s easy (and always gets points with the voters) to tout involvement proposals on the stump. Much trickier to facilitate real change. 2) Is the “parent report card” model the way to go. Says here that the report card can be a powerful tool if used well and if reports measure the right things. Will follow this story…

Hey there PTO Today the article left out a few details such as it was not a school PTO but the towns so called Central PTO which does not opperate in any school buildings and has no attachment to the schools individual PTO’s which are all completely seporate as well. I should know I’ve been an officer in one or another for the last 7 years.
