Helping Parent Leaders Make Schools Great

My Tip of the Week: Hug Your School Even Harder

December 19th, 2012 by

As do those all across the nation, our hearts ache for the children and families of Sandy Hook Elementary. Please join us in praying for peace, praying for Newtown, and praying for the Sandy Hook community.

There are clearly no words that will make this better or erase these images; but just as clearly, this is a time for all of us to redouble our efforts to let all the kids at our schools know they are surrounded by, loved by, and looked after by a whole community of caring adults, from their teachers to their school staff to all the parents who are so involved at their school.

For more on this difficult topic, read our blog post: Responding to the Sandy Hook Tragedy: What PTOs and PTAs Can Do.

Please also accept our best wishes for a wonderful, peaceful Christmas and holiday season with your own families.

School stared back up Monday. Everybody looked happy to be back. My wife had a great plan. We gave everybody on staff a plant to welcome them back. Express our appreciation the job they do. We tried to welcome every kid that zoomed!… by us(you know how that goes)the semester just start
