Internet Safety Night at Alto Elementary School hosted around 50 parents from the Lowell School District and featured guest speaker, Scott Montgomery, securities practice manager for OST in Grand Rapids. The presentation was designed to equip parents with information on how to keep their children safe online. "Parents are paying attention," said Cindy Johnston, Alto PTO president. "They recognize that their children know more about technology than they do." This was another event in a series of community-wide outreach initiatives by the Alto PTO to equipped Alto Elementary families with tools to help teachers and parents come together and give students the best chance for a successful education. "As a parent of younger children, it provided a lot of great suggestions and cautions to be aware of as my children begin to access more and more technology," said Lacey Charboneau, Alto Elementary parent. "I feel better prepared to set up safeguards and reasonable expectations for my children. I am very grateful to Alto Elementary PTO for providing us such amazing resources."
