There are lots of great games you can play for Family Math Night. The ones that work for you will depend on the skills your teachers want to emphasize. Be sure to talk to them to help you choose. Some examples include math bingo (figure out the math problem to know which number to cover on your card), tangrams -- geometric puzzles that you put together to form other shapes, and estimating games like figure out the number of jelly beans in the jar. One trick to make math problems fun is to give your night a theme and make the math games fit the theme. For example, you might use world travel and have students figure the area of an "Egyptian pyramid" or the length of the "Great Wall of China" by calculating with numbers you give them.
