Can PTO provide funds to fund/subsidize school curriculum?

I am just curious whether PTOs are funding/subsidizing certain programs that are part of school curriculum.

Lots of parent groups help fund curricular programs, especially music and art. Some groups help fund salaries for librarians, aides, and even teachers. Check out the article What Should PTOs Pay For? for more on this subject.
