The best way to get the word out on any activity is to use a variety of methods. Send a flyer home with students, list it on the bulletin board at the school entrance, put it on the school sign, include it on your website and in your newsletter, and send an email to parents. Different communication methods will work for different people. And your message will be emphasized for people who see it more than once. You might also hand flyers directly to parents in the pickup and drop-off line or at school events, or wear a sandwich board to get attention. I've even seen some leaders dress up in costume while handing out information on a special event as a means to get attention.
