Question: Change from K-12 to K-6

We are currently a K-12 PTO, but are considering that it would beneficial to simply be K-6 or K-8 because of how our schools are aligned. Can we do this and what types of paperwork would be involved? Thank you!

You can certainly do that. You would need to change your bylaws and probably your mission statement. If your group is incorporated, you may need to file revised incorporation papers with your state. If your group is a 501c3 organization, you'll need to report the change on your annual Form 990 return. All of this paperwork is fairly straightforward.
