Appointing Officers for Next Year

We held a year end "officer election" meeting and no one ran for office. Now we have some people willing to share the officer's posistions, (allowed in our by-laws) but we won't have another meeting before the end of the yr. Can our executive committee appoint these people to office?

Yes, go ahead and have them take over, then confirm it by holding elections at your first meeting of the year. I would present the new officers as a slate and ask your members to confirm them in their new offices rather than opening the election up to other nominations.
