Any kind of building theme works -- bridges, foundations, etc. I remember reading (on the message boards?) about a group that did an ice cream theme. Cut-outs of ice cream cones were taped to the wall and every time a parent joined, a "scoop" was added in the form of a colored piece of paper with the parent's name on it. The drive was capped off with an ice cream social.
