You should try to get it done before the end of school, but are you running out of time? Groups typically run elections in the spring so the new board is in place for the start of the school year. You have a few options. If you are really pressed for time but want to get it done, you could try to quickly turn it around and have a speedy nomination process and election. But, if this feels way too rushed and your parents don't want to be pushed, you could put it off to early fall. Try to avoid that, though. It isn't the end of the world by any means, but it will bring some transition challenges to your group when you are trying to get the year off to a good start and it could be distracting to your group.
