Advice from PTO Today

Craig writes:
That answer refers to the dissolution clause in your articles of incorporation or other organizing document, which must be filed with your form 1023. The dissolution clause simply states what happens to the group's assets if the group is dissolved. (Typically, they must be donated to another 501c3 organization -- which in practical terms would be the school or another PTO.) The page, article, and paragraph should reflect the actual location of the clause in your organizing document. It will likely be different for every PTO.
