Question: Bylaws and a Newish PTO

Our PTO was poorly run by the last president. The leadership of the school wanted a new everything and I was tapped to pull it together. Now I am looking at the bylaws and I see that there was a process that wasn't followed. The previous PTO president is not being helpful in the transition, blaming everyone else for her failure. Can I rewrite the bylaws and start anew?

Yes. You can rewrite them, and you should have members vote to approve the new bylaws when they're ready. Check out the article How Good Are Your Bylaws? for help. Good luck!
