Background checks for undocumented parents

If your school requires background checks for parent volunteers, how do you encourage participation from undocumented parents who would be hesitant to undergo such a check?

Most non-profit organizations do require a background check for undocumented individuals before they can volunteer. So with that being said I do not see why the parent volunteers should not be subjected to the same.

A typical criminal background check for a volunteer typically does not involve checks for legal residency. And a lot of criminal background checks do not require social security numbers either.
