First, check your bylaws to see if there are any restrictions on who can and can not be a PTO officer. If this isn't addressed in your bylaws, check with the district to make sure it doesn't have any policy about employees participating on PTOs. It sounds like this person is an awesome president, so look for ways to make it work. You may have situations that would create a conflict of interest (especially when voting is required) and it those cases, the president can take herself out of the discussion/vote.
Try to make it work! A good PTO president is hard to find!
