School Holiday Gift Shop Proceeds

How do other schools use the proceeds from Holiday Gift Shops? Do the funds go into the general budget, or are they used for specific purposes, for example, to purchase gifts for "Adopt a Family" programs sponsored by the school?

Both. I'd say most schools put the money in the general fund, but it's not unusual to earmark money from a fundraiser for a specific purpose. Certainly doing an 'Adopt a Family" is a great idea and a very nice thing to do with any money you raise.
