Retirements

How do you handle retirements. We had someone resign after 21 years, but she is not at retirement age. Do you have something for them or do you require they meet the rule 0f 88?

Hi BookLady,
There may be rules around dollar amounts of gifts that the secretary can accept. You'd want to check that with your school district. But certainly it would be great to give her a going away gift. If you have time, you could try to do something nice form the students, like having them write her thank you notes. If she's been there 21 years, sounds like she deserves a nice send off.
