Can a PTO Budget have a planned deficit?

I am the Treasurer for our PTO. We have some prior year expenses (approx. $8k) that we would like to fund from prior year cash surplus vs. from current year fundraising activity. Is it ok to show a planned deficit in our Budget this year to reflect this?

Hi there,
One possible issue: Were the prior year expenses not previously budgeted? If not, that's a large sum and you would likely need a group vote to proceed on how to cover these expenses.
