501c3 PTO and maximum fundraisers allowed per year

our PTO is a 501c3 organization - how many fundraisers are allowed in one calander year. We have some members who think fundraisers are mixed to 2 per year but i am not able to find any info on this.

Your members might be referring to a school district limit? (That's if there is one.) There isn't a limit mandated by the IRS. Also, PTOs are independent groups, so they set their own rules.

In Texas, there is a limit of 2 TAXFREE fundraisers per year for nonprofits. The numbers of fundraisers a nonprofit can have is unlimited. Other states may or may not have similar rules.Check with your state comptroller.
