Paying School District

Our PTO has been asked to accept a check from a ticket sales company and then to write a check for the same amount to the school district, to fill a budget hole that the ticket sales would fill. Does this sound ok?

This scenario, quite honestly, sounds a little odd. You can ask for more information so you better understand the process. The obvious question here is why can't the school take the check from the ticket sales company?
