Question: Local PTA has Office Inside County Dept of Ed Building
Local TN PTA has it's office inside Hamilton County Department of Education (HCDE) complex in Chattanooga, TN. This is the same PTA group that partnered with HCDE to try to shut down a newly formed PTO in this county. They made false accusations against the PTO and tried to bully them into dissolving. This PTO is a 501(c)(3). HCDE eventually backed down, but not until the PTO got an attorney. Is this normal practice for them to be in the same building? Is it even legal? What they tried to do to the newly formed PTO appeared to be collusion and discrimination. HCDE also has a union office inside its complex as well. Something about all this inside of a government building doesn't seem right. Please advise.
