We recommend that groups keep or carry over an amount that would cover start up costs for your group. When we say "start up,'' we mean expenses for any back-to-school events and materials that you would be sharing with parents. The idea is to have the money available so you do not have to fundraise on day one. This amount would vary from group to group. We'd say $13,000 sounds high, however.
