Lots of parent groups donate money for field trips, and if $275 will help the entire grade have a special experience, that seems like money well spent. It sounds like donating toward field trips might be new for your group. If so, you'll want to discuss whether this is a one-time donation, or if you want to create a line item in your budget for field trip expenses. A lot of groups put money toward admission or transportation costs for field trips. Some don't do this, but set aside money to pay field trip fees for kids whose families can't afford it. - Emily from PTO Today
