Bylaws-Officers and Committees-voting and position

12 years 11 months ago #157362 by Anonymous
Our bylaws state that no member shall hold the same position for more than 2 consecutive years. It also says that the offices are chair, vice-chair, secretary, treasurer and class representatives. Voting in Spring at All School Meeting, quorum, silent ballot. One person shall hold one position.

So, if our bylaws do not state that we can have co-chairs or co-vice chairs... then can we share these positions? Should the bylaw be rewritten?

Our chair was co-chair 2 years ago and chair this year. Are those different positions? It appears that her taking the position a 3rd year as co-chair is still the chair position. Suggestions? Another rewrite on the bylaws?

Our all school meeting did not have a quorum of members to vote in the new board. Nor was it silent vote. Now we are having to redo our vote, but, by vote over a week period. There are no other options listed in our bylaws. Rewrite the bylaws?

Our Chair this year has been unable to secure our lease, we discovered that a parent is 6 months behind due to lack of oversight due to treasury, we have 1 unhappy teacher who does not have a contract because of the lease situation. Would this cause one to stall a teacher contract with no lease?
