Great questions Jessie! Thanks for the input. I will add those to our list.

I like this idea.
How about these questions:
-6: What has been the biggest change for you in middle school?
-7: Which stresses you out more: difficulties with friends or difficulties with school?
-8: What are you most excited about moving to the high school? What are you the most worried about?

Our PTO meetings typically include a speaker - in April however, we are trying somethign new. We will hold Grade Level Parent-Led Discussion Groups.

We have chosen 2 trusted parents from each current grade level (all of whom this is their 2nd or 3rd time through this grade) to lead a discussion group with parents whose children will be entering that grade next year.

I have compiled a list of questions for each parent to interview their child with. When shared with the group - these "from a kid's point of view" questions will hopefully be a great insight into a typical day in that grade.

My question to all of you - what were your biggest questions going into a new grade? I'd like to have a few conversation starters for each grade level.

We are a public middle school with 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
