one year we played bingo using monopoly property names because our theme for the week was monopoly. We would draw and announce it over the PA system that also involved the students. They all had a blast!

One of the things I have done for our staff of 54 is make a circle word search puzzle using their last names. There is always a "hidden message". I give them a few days to hand in the completed puzzle and then hold a drawing for those who returned them. There are a ton of teacher appreciation ideas at www.myschoolonline.com/oh/lakewoodptacouncil under Those Things We Do. If you go to www.puzzlemaker.com you can enter all the puzzle info and in just a few seconds they have your puzzle ready. EASY and the staff loves them!

I realize that Teacher App week is past, but since I am new to this site, I thought I would share something we did that the teachers loved. Maybe someone could use the idea next year or just for an end of year thank you. We called it "A Garden of Thanks".
We took the hallway between the cafeteria and the library because it gets the most traffic. We made cut out flower pots from brown construction paper and stapled them to the wall causing them to bulge just a bit. We then enlisted the help from the librarian, so that when the children came to library they each wrote a note or their name on a die-cut flower or leaf. We had the kids glue their flowers to a craft stick and then stapled the flowers the children created as an arrangement in the paper pots on the wall. We included pots for the kitchen, the office and other helpers in our school.

We too are working on our Teacher Appreciation Week's events. We are going to have a contest for our teachers. We collected pictures of some of the staff from when they were younger, assembled them onto a poster and the other staff members have to guess who is who. The winner will recieve a weekend getaway package that includes donated caverns passes and free camping.

Hope this idea can help.

WOW! I am impressed that you have teachers interested in games. The only thing that comes to my mind is some sort of scavenger hunt. The clues could consist of riddles or something.

Are you thinking of games that involve the kids too? I'm also curious what other types of games you've done, since you know your teachers LOVE games. If they involve the classes too that sounds like such a great experience for the kids!

Hello,
OK, we just finished our Carnival/Silent Auction, and now it is time for Teacher Appreciation Week. We have a very competitive group of teachers who LOVE to play games. I am just wondering if anyone could pass along some games that our teachers could play throughout the week, prizes would then be awarded to the winners.
We have 28 teachers, men and women. Thanks in advance for your help.
