The chairpersons of each committee check in with their assigned board member so that reports and updates can be given out at each meeting; however board members can also potentially be chair persons of a committee if we lack in volunteers.

We only have 6:
Events
Fundraising
Membership
Communications
Teacher Appreciation
Spiritual (we are a Catholic School)

Of course, then within each of those, there are subcommittees for specific events/initiatives. We have a member who is the Lead for each committee and there is a Board Liaison for each Committee so that we are always in the loop with what is going on.

We have 3 major committees: Outreach, Community, and Service. Each officer is co-chair of a committee, so president is co-chair of community, treasurer co-chair of outreach, etc. The secretary is not co-chair due to helping run elections. Within each committee, there are sub-committees run by event chairs, so for example, there is a Pizza Friday sub-committee under Community, so there is a chair of Pizza Friday who works with chairs of Community. Another example, we have a food pantry, who's chair works closely with the Outreach chairs. This helps spread out oversight and responsibilities and has worked very well.
