Who would typically announce all the new candidates? Can't be the Principal, she is a vice pres. also. Since I found this idea on here, I would have to present it to someone to do for me. I am the PRez.
I don't believe the installation is necessary but it does put out there, in a very public way who your new officers are and the membership can know them a bit better from it. It's fun too. The installation at the convention was the first one I've seen done. It was even more fun being 'sentenced' as a repeat offender (well until they made us sing Happy trails to the old board... I don't like singing in public!) [img]smile.gif[/img]

I love the Gifts of Candy, that is too cute. Last year all they did was announce who the new board was going to be just before the Kindergarten Spring Program began. Nothing formal as far as an installation at all. This is really cute. We've got a board meeting this morning I printed that out & will be presenting it this morning to see if we can get something official started. We've got a week to get it all together. I love this website!!!!
We had a humorous installation of new officers at our convention. First the old officers were brought forth before the "jury"- membership. After serving two years of their sentence for being willing to work long hours, caring about children and other crimes of philanthropy (or something like that) The judge (Linda Hodge) asked the jury if after serving their times they should be released.
Then the new board was called forward for committing the same crimes. Some were considered repeat offenders. The memberhsip was asked to pronounce their sentence of innocent or guilty. Having been found guilty by the membership they were committed to two years of hard labor working for children. (I don't remember the exact wording but it was a fun ceremony!) It reminded me of advancement ceremonies in scouts.
