We had...oh god I can't belive I'm going to share this....Elivs, Marilyn Monroe, Roy Orbenson, and a young Elive perform for a big function. SO much fun and they were just great! On a less expensive note, a local high school's band performed and the PTO made a donation to their group (they couldn't charge us but accepted the in kind donation). We ddin't have a band teacher at the time so it was perfect.

We have a few mothers at our school who sell beauty products called Beauti Control and they do a program called a Spa escape. They came in during teacher appreciation week and all the teachers interested went on their break to a room where they were there to give them 1/2 hour spa treaments. The teachers raved about how awesome and relaxing it was. The best part was they did it for us for free so we had zero expense to do this for them. If you have any parents who do something like that or Mary Kay it is a great way to give them something nice that is free and these people are willing to do it for free because their sales catalogs get given out and the hope for some possible return business from those who tried their products.

You're All Stars!

We did a Hollywood Themed week with star treatment day (mobile massage team!), a continental breakfast and glamour shots, and a wrap party where the glamour shots were set to music and played for the teachers. They loved it! We put stars up around the school with their names, and made a red carpet for them to walk in on (red paper taped down). The glamour shots were the most fun, and it was a great ice breaker. The teachers got all dolled up in feather boas, tacky sunglasses, gaudy hats, some horrible blonde wigs, and obnoxious costume jewelry (all compliments of grandma's leftovers and my daughter's dress ups). We got a local restraunt to cater, and kept the decor simple with a few balloons and a sparkly door curtain. Too fun! All of the events included every staff member with the exception of the massages, which were on a first come first serve basis on the sign up sheet.

I just met with our principal about some ideas I had. I found the teachers really don't have much time but love to have lunch for them. I ordered from positive promotions, a package of balloon, streamers, and stickers to hang in the school to surprise them when they come in on Monday. Then on Friday each child will wear a sticker back from the lunch room that says, I love my teacher and that will follow a lunch the PTO will serve the teachers and staff. I am having all the teachers wear fun colorful clothes on Friday and have a lua Hawaiian themed lunch for them. Each teacher will get a lei when they enter the teachers room and I will have a flower vase on the table with a skewer with seeds for each of them with a poem about teachers and education on each. This is the first time doing it, but the principal loved the idea. Also, having each teacher this week bring a baby picture in and having the kids vote on who is who.

We have our school chorus perform at the start of the luncheon and the band plays periodically throughout the rest of the time. Teachers love to se/heaar kids and the kids are so proud of themselves for pleasing the staff!

We are looking for some entertainment ideas for our all staff apprecation luncheon. We have a formal sit down lunch with all the extras but it feels like something is missing.
