John,

If you are a looking for a quick and easy solution Excel is probably the best choice. You can sort students by grade, teacher, last name – whatever you desire. You will have some options for formatting – color, font, etc. If you want to add art or graphics use Word or another word processing program and simply copy & paste or insert your list from Excel. If you are looking for something more polished some of our leaders have used publishing tools such as Microsoft Publisher, however we do not know of a publishing tool that will allow you to import student information and then format.

If you “google” “student directory software” there are a few solutions out there, but PTO TODAY has not evaluated or used any of them so we are not sure which are the best. If you find a good one, please let us know!

I am tracking student information in Filemaker Pro 10 (database), and have exported the data to a CSV file. Are there any student directory templates that you can use to import the information automatically. In other words, I don't want to manually place the information in the directory. Does such a thing exist?

thanks,

John
