In our school's Heads or Tails, we have volunteers circulating during the party selling wristbands for $20 each to we can easily identify who has already been asked and who has actually paid to play. Our sellers were so industrious, they sold two to many people, giving them an "extra" chance to win the game!
We have done "Heads or Tails" for the last two years. I'm looking for something new and fresh as well.
We also always do the 50/50. Who doesn't like the chance to win money??
@mom2many: Here's how we ran our "Heads or Tails"
We asked attendees at check in if they would like to participate for $20 and log their bidder number so we can add it to their invoice at the end of the evening. We told them the item had a value of "x" but not what the item was. (We always make it something big ticket and usable like a tablet or TV). Then, during the live auction portion of the event, we call up all of the people who "bought in." This is on the honor system. Then, each person is asked to choose either Heads or Tails by placing their hands on their head or, yes, you guessed it, their rear ends. We flip a coin, whoever has their hands on the winning flip, stays up front for another round. Those who had the losing flip sit down. We do this until we have one winner. It's tad embarrassing for some, but a ton of fun.
Just curious, what is the heads or tails game? We auction off the right to have your table eat first, as well as Big Six game, jewelry raffle, and usually raffle off a big item (IPad, etc) that we sell tickets for several weeks ahead of time. With our 50/50 raffle, we had a "Let's Make a Deal" with asking whether they wanted the money (undisclosed amount), an envelope of raffle tickets for the IPad, or a predetermined item of vale about $100. It made it a little fun as people had to decide in front of everyone. We also do fish bowl raffles that are very popular.
We have done raffles and heads or tails games at our auction and 50/50's are popular around here. We are looking for other fun games to raise money and create excitement or ways of raffling/aucitoning off items. What have you done in the past that worked well?
