Hello, I am trying to find donations for our upcoming Tricky Tray to be held in January. Purpose of the Tricky Tray is to raise money for our HS Varsity Swimming and Diving Team. We provide training equipment, athlete recognition, and we started a Scholarship Fund last year.

Can anyone help me with donation ideas, or places to send for donation requests. We are not a PTO, we do have the use of the School Tax exempt paperwork. Are there places that we could ask for donations without the 501C

Thank you for any help.

For the Tricky Tray for your sports team fundraising, you'll probably have more success with local businesses that will take an interest in the school athletic programs. Try Sports Authority and any other sports oriented stores. Try researching swimming sports equipment companies that might want to donate. Just email their customer service and see what they say.

Does anyone have any suggestions/success in getting a donation for a concert through Ticketmaster or contacting a specific musician (rock musician) who would donate a signed autograph or CD? Other ideas?

Can you spot the enthusiasm already? I just started sending out internet requests. I
covered about 46 in two days. Got turned down by red box and don't know why but I will try again later.

After exhausting internet options, and I am searching for donation requests in my state, I will blindly send out requests to restaurants and businesses of note. Then as we get closer, I will solicit my parents for donations if they want and possibly have each class make up a themed box or basket.

I do have a question. How do you collect the tickets for the raffles? Does each item have a box? If I have a hundred items, do I need a hundred boxes?

What we do with the baskets is set out a firm that list the items and round about value then they bid on the paper for the item. No tickets needed

When you do your Gift Auction do you have a "goody bag" for people who come? If you do what do you put in it?
There was talk that we are selling tickets so cheaply that we don't need to do anything? Thoughts...
