Materials:

  • Tissue Paper
  • Wax Paper
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush
  • Sharpie
  • Glitter
  • Yogurt cups, Jell-O cups or small Dixie cups
  • Water based white school glue

How To Make:

Take colored tissue paper and rip into small pieces. Yellow and green are a nice combo, dark/light green or green/ light blue are fun combos as well.

Take a piece of waxed paper and fold in half.

Draw a shamrock shape, large or small.

Cut out and open shamrock (trim shape if needed).

Take a small cup and add glue. Adding a very small amount of water at a time, stir the glue with a paintbrush until it seems easy to paint with.

Brush the glue on the waxed paper and start adding pieces of tissue paper. Brush over the tissue paper and keep adding until you have covered the shamrock shape.

Optional: If parts of the shamrock are dry, brush a little more glue over the surface and sprinkle glitter onto the wet surface so that it sticks.

Very carefully have an adult lift the wet shamrock off your table so that it’s not stuck. Move if needed to a nonstick surface to dry. For example: a table, counter top, plastic tray.

When dry, hang in a window or on a lamp shade. You can use tape or a hole punch to aid you.
