“We have a wish list program where the teachers submit a list at the end of the year for items needed for the next school year (they can add any additional items before Open House). We make stars with the item listed on the front and the teacher’s name on the back and have them posted outside the teacher’s door. There are flyers at Open House explaining that anyone can choose a star and purchase the item and then send it back through school for the teacher. The list is also available through the school website. We make sure to include support staff like the nurse, librarian, and reading teachers.”
