Multicultural Challenge -- NY PTA working to attract Asian families

Winnie Hu from the New York Times does a nice job of frequently covering school and family and parent involvement stories. I found her story this week particularly interesting, as she follows the efforts of a Long Island (NY) PTA to connect with a growing Asian population at school. If you have a diverse popualtion at your school, I bet you'll find some interesting parallels.

We've covered this same challenge at length over the years. In fact, we have a mini-homepage on the site just about making a Multi-Cultural PTO Work. One of our multi-cultural stories focused especially on Asian parents. Think I'll have to send Winnie Hu the link. :-)

Would love to have your ideas for making this work. Recent demographic trends make it more than clear that multi-cultural will be the norm throughout the country in the not-too-distant future.
