“One thing I have made a habit of since I first took office is to speak to the teachers at their staff meetings. I ask the principal for five to 10 minutes of time at the start of their meetings and usually speak three times during the year. It’s a great communication tool where I introduce myself, extend my hand, and keep them informed on main topics. We’ve had better teacher participation at our meetings and better communication between us.”
