Penguin Water Bottle Activity

How cute are these penguins made out of empty water bottles! This is a relatively mess-free activity and can be modified depending on the age of the kids in the class. For younger grades it’s a good idea to pre-cut the wings, beak, feet, and rectangular strip that goes around the cap.

What You’ll Need:

Empty water bottles
Black construction paper
Feathers
Orange foam
Google eyes
Tape
Scissors
Glue

How to make it:

Have the kids fill their water bottle with cotton balls
Tape a rectangle strip around the cap*
Tape on the wings*
Glue on the beak and googly eyes
Tape on the feathers
Glue on the feet*

*Depending on age of kids you might want to pre-cut the rectangle strips, wings, beak, and feet. Another option is to provide a template the kids can trace and then cut (a great fine motor skills activity!)
