“St. Mary of the Knobs PTO hosts a Parents’ Night Out the second Friday in December. This began December 2008. Parents fill out a form with the names and ages of their children. Children are divided into four groups according to age. The time is set from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Parents can use the time however they want—Christmas shopping, alone time with their spouse, or just go back home and veg on the couch. The children are provided pizza, arts and crafts projects, board games, puzzles, and a movie with popcorn. This is free to parents, but free will donations are accepted. We’ve had enough donations to pay for the pizza. The kids have a great time. The parents love it! It’s a huge success!”
