Q&A

room parnet..

can you "fire" a room parent? we have a few who just arent doing the job, but keep saying, oh yeah im emailing everyone tonight, or yes tomorrow.. its 3 school days till our haloween parties, and many rooms dont know what is going on!

You can ask them if there too busy to handle it, and offer them the opportunity to step down. Most people know when they're not doing a good job, so they often welcome the opportunity.

I would visit with the teacher and ask them how things are going and if they need any extra help from you. Also, is there someone else who wants the job? There is nothing worse than "firing" a volunteer with no replacement available.
