Board meetings via email

Does anyone have information or the legality re: holding your monthly Board meetings via email? It's become difficult for all the officers to attend this one, plus the general school parent meeting - both every month. Thoughts? Thanks!!!

Open meeting laws vary from state to state. Typically, they don't apply to independent PTOs or PTAs. One solution, for transparency, would be to conduct discussions via email but to hold votes at an open meeting half an hour before your regularly scheduled monthly meeting.
