Anyone else have problems with yankee candle fundraiser??

10 years 5 months ago #164797 by BP
I participated in the fundraiser by purchasing Yankee Candle room deodorizing sprays from a student. For the pricey amount charged, I received tiny 1.5 oz cans of spray. I foolishly expected an 8 oz sized spray can comparable to Glade air freshener. Additionally, the Yankee Candle spray scents are barely recognizable; I purchased a variety of different scents and had difficulty distinguishing the difference between them, much less recognizing the one as "Balsam & Cedar" scent. However, one must keep in mind that this is, after all, a Fundraiser specifically for Yankee Candle and the school; therefore quality products are not the focus. I would rather donate $50.00 directly to the school than purchase small, poor quality products which I will probably end up discarding. I am very disappointed with the outcome of this transaction, not only for myself but for the student who received such a small amount for her school.

My son's school just did a Yankee Candle fundraiser...he's 5 so it's my first time participating in these sorts of things...I enthusiastically distributed the catalog at work, took orders...75% of order was fulfilled incorrectly...missing items, shipped one item not ordered. Just a mess. I feel awkward at work now. I won't participate in future fundraisers...

Not happy with Yankee Candle fundraiser: missing candles, perhaps in a missing box? Stupidly, I didn't keep the carbon copy of order form! I thought the slip would return with the order as it does with Girl Scout cookies. Luckily I had xeroxed it at one point, in the middle of taking orders for my two girls, so I have an incomplete list of what I am to deliver! I am hoping I can get this sorted out! WHO DO I CALL OR TURN TO? The school? the PTA? Yankee Candle? But right now I am ready to pull my hair out!

A follow up... I spent at least a week researching Yankee fundraising. I spoke with a number of folks with orders ranging from a few grand to about $32, 000. I got all positive responses! We're going for it!

Hey Folks!

We are actively considering this as a Fall fundraiser. We used to do it annually but stopped for a few years because of a NIGHTMARE in 2010. We had huge issues with fulfillment! Better than 50% of the orders had something wrong. I have been told by our rep that all that is in the past but I would love to see current reviews?

Thanks!

Harold
