Reindeer Treats

  • 4 cups oat cereal or Cheerios
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup diced dried apricots
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup chopped pretzels
  • 3 tbsp. margarine, melted (optional)

Place all ingredients in a 2-quart sealable plastic bag, seal and shake until mixed.  Purchase small plastic bags with holiday decorations.  Write the name of one of Santa's reindeer on each bag and fill with snack-sized portions for kids to enjoy.

Healthy Holiday Cone

In a large mixing bowl, stir all ingredients well, (except mini candy canes), and scoop into cones.  If you're using mini candy canes, place one mini candy cane in each cone (off to the side).  Adjust the recipe for number of children.

  • 1 cup grated carrot
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped apple
  • ½ cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons light mayonnaise
  • 1  teaspoon lemon juice
  • 4  ice cream cones
  • 4 mini candy canes (optional)
