We get  the "Should our PTO have insurance?" question quite a bit. It's really a decision for your group to make on its own, but I can tell you that many parent groups do have insurance, and I think it's a very small price to pay for peace of mind and protection.

You can get insurance for your property and funds, as well as for your officers, volunteers, and events. There are times when all of these types of coverage could prove worthwhile for groups.

My tip this week is to at least take a look at whether you are properly covered and if not, start the process now. It's easy to get covered, and it costs only hundreds (not thousands) of dollars.

We have several resources that can help:

  • Our PTO Today Plus Insurance program, which offers what we believe is the best package available for parent groups.
