So, it's only natural that a PTO parent would have the *absolutely brilliant* idea to make Target their actual Teacher Appreciation Week theme.

Jamie Gordon, PTO President at Wilsonville Elementary School in Wilsonville, Alabama, shares what her PTO did to make their school's Teacher Appreciation Week unforgettable by making it all about Target...literally. And—get this—their PTO was allowed to borrow Spot the dog from their local Target to use as a centerpiece display in the teachers' lounge. (Lesson: it never hurts to ask, especially if you're on the PTO!). Target Teacher Appreciation Week Itinerary Ideas

Pick a Target-themed idea for each day of the week! Here are some from our community to inspire you:

• Cafe we go: Grab lunch in the "cafe"
• Employee of the month: Time for some team member recognition, along with a catered lunch!
• Take a break: Muffins and coffee in the "break room"
• Target haul: Take a trip down to the Dollar Spot to get some supplies! Set up a snack station labeled as the “Dollar Spot” filled with grab-and-go treats like candy, chips, and soda. Include humorous markdown tags, like “Was: Stressed / Now: Blessed.”
• Red Shirt Day: Encourage everyone to wear red (Target uniform style) one day and set up a red-and-white photo booth with props like a red bullseye and name tags. Ask students to wear a red shirt to show their support as part of the “team.”
• "You Hit the Mark!" appreciation station: Send home red bullseye-themed templates for students to write notes of gratitude to teachers and staff.
• We love our staff a "latte": Enjoy a Starbucks drink in the teachers' lounge
• Our staff is the real deal: Grab a surprise $5 Target gift card and indulge your sweet tooth! Display gift cards in prize punch cups covered in red and white tissue paper.
• Bullseye breakfast bar: Set up a breakfast spread styled like a Target café—with red and white decor, a "Target Café" sign, and grab and go breakfast items like bagels, coffee, fruit cups, and mini donuts.
• Target-themed teacher treat trolley ("Target Run"): Create a rolling cart that visits classrooms with goodies (like a mini Target store). Staff can choose from snacks, school supplies, and self-care items. Props if you're able to borrow a red shopping cart from your local Target!
• "Target Dollar Spot" Gift Bags: Each teacher gets a mini gift bag with fun $1–$3 items like pens, sticky notes, lip balm, or fun socks, labeled “Straight from the Dollar Spot—because you’re worth a million.”
