If you've been near anyone age 8 to 14 in the last 3 months, you've probably heard "67" (pronounced "six seeeeeven") on repeat and wondered what the heck it means. Well, you're not alone—that's probably why Dictionary.com chose "67" their word of the year for 2025.

Your school probably celebrates the 100th day of school (maybe even the 90th day of school, with a "We Love the 90s" theme). But the 67th day? That's fire. With that in mind, we pulled together creative ways to celebrate the 67th day of school, featuring ideas from our Facebook group community. Plus, get our FREE "67 Days Smarter" certificate to print and give out students! (They may roll their eyes a little, but we think they'll secretly love it.)

So, when exactly is the 67th day of school? Just like the 100th day of school, it depends on your school's start date. You can use this free calculator on OmniCalculator.com to estimate your 67th day of school (but keep in mind you don't want to count weekends). Or, if you're an old school Gen Xer (like me), counting the days on the calendar you've got hanging on your kitchen bulletin board works just fine, too. 😉

67th Day of School Ideas

  • Pre-record each staff member and teacher saying "six seeeeeven" and play the recording during morning announcements (bonus announcement: ask this joke: "Why was 6 afraid of 7? Because it 8 9")

  • A spin on "minute to win it" games, host "67 seconds to win it" games, featuring 67 second challenges for students to complete
  • Have a temporary tattoo station featuring 6 and 7 tattoos for students and staff
  • Decorate the main entrance at school with large 6 and 7 helium balloons, foil fringe, and a sign that reads “Six Seeeeeeven Days Smarter!”
  • Give your 67th day of school a spirit day dress-up theme, like "dress like your 67 years old" (instead of 100), Neon Day, "a day of nonsense" where students are encouraged to dress in mismatched clothes and accessories, a “67 costume day” (students wear t-shirts with a "6" or "7" on them, or 67 props), or "wear your GOAT drip"
  • Sell donuts (or another treat) for 67 cents as a fundraiser
  • 67 days smarter...and kinder! Encourage students to do 6-7 kind things on 67 day as a 67-themed kindness challenge.
  • Celebrate 1958 with things that were popular 67 years ago: the hula hoop craze, rock and roll (Elvis Presley was at the height of his fame that year),  iconic teen staples like poodle skirts, saddle shoes, and letterman jackets, and diner culture and soda fountains (try a dirty soda bar for teachers - get our free recipes and signage). Other fun facts about 1958: NASA was established, sparking a fascination with rockets and sci fi, and the LEGO brick was also patented.
  • A "67th day of school" yard sign fundraiser, featuring the numbers 6 and 7 as signs
  • 67 donuts or cupcakes for staff in the lounge. Maria Regina Parents Association in Seaford, New York, had custom 67 donuts from Dunkin' for staff, along with stickers featuring a "limited edition 67" logo.
  • Hide miniature 6's and 7's around the school - whoever finds one wins a prize
  • Feature the message "How many times a week should you be reading? 6 - 7" on the school marquee
  • Give students an extra 6 or 7 minutes at recess
  • Chalk the walk with numbers 6 and 7
  • A fun way to get your school principal involved: print out 67 mini photos of your principal's face and ask staff members to hide them around the school. As students find them, they get added to the "Help us find 67 pictures of Principal <Name Here>!" board.
  • Writing activities: encourage students to reflect on how the other numbers may feel left out and write a story about numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 9, or what they'll be like (and how the world will be) in 67 years
  • Have a "swap" day, where teachers dress like students, and students dress like teachers
  • Plan a 67 themed Underground Spirit Day for staff: but...don't tell the students—see if they can guess what's going on! Encourage  teachers and staff to dress up to represent "67". Teachers can add to the fun by incorporating it into classwork, too—for example, give math tests where all answers are 67. Will the students figure it out?!
  • Pass out pencils with "How Many Days Has It Been Since School Began? 67!" tags. You can use this 67 pencil tags Canva template shown below, created by Charrie Ferguson from our community.

  • If your 67th day of school falls right before Thanksgiving, celebrate with a Macy's Thanksgiving parade theme...live from "channel 67"!
