Snack carts, also called “treat trolleys” and “woot woot wagons,” are a super simple way for your PTO to surprise teachers with a midday treat. Once the Brookwood Elementary PTO in Enterprise, Ala., got on the treat trolley train, they never looked back. In fact, they do a treat trolley each month for their teachers!
Led by copresidents Whitney Jones Marler and Kayla Bomhard, the PTO hopped on the treat trolley train in 2021 to bring a little comfort and joy to teachers during the pandemic, and the idea just stuck. (It’s safe to say teachers like their snacks!) Now, each month’s cart features a different theme and smorgasbord of treats. PTO goals, right?
Below, we round up a few popular treat trolley themes from PTOs like Brookwood Elementary PTO and Clear Creek Elementary School PTO in Cartersville, Georgia, along with a shoppable list of the supplies, décor, and printable signs (Canva templates) you’ll need to recreate them.

Check it out below! (Pssst: Want to make your own teacher treat-cycle? Here's the tricycle Clear Creek Elementary PTO uses (Amazon) - don't forget to add the battery operated fairy lights!)

And remember, drink carts don't have to be fancy to be fun...it's all about surprising your teachers with an unexpected can of (insert your teacher's drink of choice here 🤗) to show that your PTO is thinking of them! PES PTO stocked their treat trolley with cans of soda and ice to treat teachers for "Sunshine Fri-Yay". Check out their fun video below!

Treat trolley tip: for even more fun, wear costumes (singing and dancing optional)
When you're delivering teacher treats via your snack cart, remember to have fun with the theme! Don a costume or do a little song and dance (or better yet...both). We absolutely love how Arrowhead PTA President Hannah Nitz and colleague Kathleen Zion brought the joy to their PTA's snack cart - check out their singalong video below!
