Question: 5 year anniversary

Does anyone have any ideas to use throughout the year for our 5 year "birthday/anniversary" this year?

Our teachers planned a parade for my son's elementary school 25th anniversary. They invited ex-students from the local middle school to play the drums which gave it a real "parade" feel. Each grade completed a "float" which they paraded around the track. It was lots of fun.
