Question: Disinterested officers

Does anyone else have officers that just "aren't into it" anymore? We have a 2 year term limit and most officers stayed for the 2nd year but it feels like they don't want to be involved. As a first time president I'm not sure what to do. I feel many times that enlisting their help is like pulling teeth. I can't do it alone (obviously) but it's hard to stay excited for everyone. Any advice on how to get the officers excited again? It's been a rough road that I don't think any of us bargained for. There have been many changes in our district with lots of animosity between parents. I don't think any of the officers realized the kind of scrutiny we were going to face. Thanks for your suggestions :)

Hi there!
One idea: How about doing a fun get together, a night out at a pub or restaurant, for the board? Consider it a "beating the winter doldrums'' get together. Or, have a pot luck at someone's house. Don't talk shop too much, but just have fun together. It might help the members reconnect and build some enthusiasm to finish up the year on a good note.

Sometimes I will have JUST and officer meeting, I have them meet me at a local restaurant for breakfast(like on a Saturday). I have my bookkeeper cut me a check from the PTO fund and I pay for their meal. Another thing we elect new officers every year. That might be what ya'll need to think about doing. ;) Hope this helps!
