“The best way to get parents to come to meetings is to have the children entertain! We usually have a grade level sponsor some sort of activity (drama, music, etc.). We’ve also had great turnout when we’ve held an ‘open house’ where the parents and children got to roam the school a bit and check out the classrooms. We also serve dinner before the meeting. This helps those who work full time and have a hard time getting here. We usually make about $100 profit; not much, but it does get the parents here.”
